A 6th generation Montanan,
Maria cut her teeth in the mountains. Having bull elk bugling out her backdoor, black bears, wolves, and too many deer to ever count walking through the yard, she quickly learned the ways of wildlife and eagerly awaited turning of age to hunt.
With her parents running a home-based outfitting business, she was blessed to grow up amidst the culture, ethics, morals, and delights of hunting. Filling the freezer at the young age of twelve and helping in the conservation of her favorite places and animals hooked her on a chase that will last a lifetime. Participating with and donating to organizations such as Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Montana Outfitters & Guides Association, Catch a Dream, and the Wounded Warriors Foundation carved a deeper meaning for life and the important role that the outdoors play in it.
With Montana running through her blood, this woman proudly carries on a rich tradition of outdoor recreation and stewardship.
Ripping lines, with a smile bigger than the Montana Sky
At age twelve, Maria entered her first freeride competition. With a steep, fluid, and extremely technical line she blew the judges away and took home gold & the Sickbird award. Continuing with IFSA, JFT & Ski Joring competitions, she landed on the podium time and time again. Now you can find her starring in Warren Miller film Future Retro, along side her brother, Jack, Parkin Costain, Scott Schmidt, and the Egan Brothers. She splits her time ripping Big Sky Resort as one of their few ambassadors and finding untouched backcountry lines on her snowmobile.
Follow the journey.
